After a short hiatus, Bristol dubstep OG and key architect of the city’s beloved ‘purple sound’ Gemmy returns with ‘We Still’, the first release in his MC-led, garage inspired ‘Barrs’ series.

Boldly reconnecting with his UKG roots, Gemmy melds his signature baseline sounds with classic two-step grooves and invites an all-star cast of vocalists to hammer home a message of unbreakable dedication to the music they all love.

Legendary UK garage vocalists Troublesome (‘Huckleberry’) & Kie (‘Fly-Bi’, ‘Flow’, ‘Joy’) set the tone and pace here – expounding their credentials as foundation figures of the scene while making sure there’s little doubt “we still deya”. London MC Jaz Kahina closes out the track demonstrating the typically cheeky lyrical bump that’s been turning heads in both the hip-hop and dance music worlds over recent months.

‘We Still’ is a powerful re-introduction to a unique talent - and with a busy schedule of dubstep and garage releases lined up from here, signals the start of a blistering return for one of bass-driven music’s most interesting producers.
